Hello there and welcome (back.. if you've been here before!) from us, Thomas Ermacora and Imogen Heap, here at The Bubbletank.
It's about time we updated this page at the very least to say a huge formal thank you to everyone who participated in the first, Love The Earth project. We were amazed and humbled by the beautiful footage you sent in. As a result we were able to put together this very special film, a celebration of nature, for everyone to enjoy.
Last November 5th at the Royal Albert Hall in London was the world premiere of Love The Earth complete with a live soundtrack. With the help of her team and in particular Kumar Kamalagharan, Imogen conducted the Docklands Sinfonia, the London Contemporary Voices and dear friends (120 people on set) to the 32 minute film that Thomas put together with a team of editors. An incredible 480,000+ independent streams were registered for the live webcast given by Thomas' Rebild.tv company.
The 11 HD camera shoot directed by Steve Price and assisted by Pod Bluman associates was put on the web by Christopher Courtney using Akamai's new HD network allowing people to see it flawlessly in different encodings depending on the quality of their connection all over the world, the best being at 5MB, which has made it an award nominated webcast for its technical prowess.Imogen couldn't keep the smile off her face as she conducted the piece dressed up in tailcoat and white gloves, right down to her baton which was a white painted twig from her garden! A real dream come true. Here's our reaction after everyone had gone home after the event:
The team recorded 150 tracks of audio which Imogen is fighting to find time to finish mixing but we are aiming for you to enjoy online from Earth Day 2012 (Sunday April 22nd, 2012).
So what next? Well..we really want to do another one and we hope you do to! We have the bug you see but need to find time and funding to make it happen, possibly in a festival context.
Launched in August 2010, by the end of September we have received over 1000
submissions from more than 100 filmmakers globally, this footage has now been handed over to 10 editors for 10
tracks composing the 20min musical score which will be premiered live at Imogen Heap's Royal Albter Hall concert on 5th November 2010.
